About the Role
Brent Council is seeking to appoint an Environmental Health Officer/Enforcement Officer to join our Food and Health & Safety Team. This role primarily focuses on regulatory responsibilities in Food Safety, Health & Safety, Infectious Disease Control, and Smoke Free Enforcement. You will be based at the Civic Centre, a vibrant hub located near Wembley Stadium, SSE Arena, and the London Designer Outlet, offering excellent transport links.

This fixed term/secondment position offers opportunities for professional development, continuous professional development (CPD), training to maintain competency, and access to a Zip Car. You will manage a caseload of proactive and reactive enforcement issues within the specified disciplines, contributing to Brent’s transformation agenda to better serve our diverse community.

Requirements

Experience
Registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) with current experience in food safety and health & safety enforcement. Consideration will be given to candidates who expect to complete their registration within six months following qualification.

You will demonstrate a flexible approach to managing both proactive and reactive enforcement work. You should be motivated to develop professionally and gain experience across a wide range of duties. Commitment to maintaining competency through training and professional development is essential.

Qualifications
Qualified Environmental Health Officer or equivalent with EHRB registration or pending registration within six months.
