About the Role
At Hill, great projects begin with great planning. As our Estimator, you’ll play a vital role in helping us secure future work by producing competitive tenders, cost plans and budget estimates that reflect our commitment to quality, value and detail.

You’ll lead on your own bids, working closely with Pre-Construction, Technical, Commercial and Delivery teams—supporting everything from pricing and site visits to client negotiations and handovers.

Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing tenders, cost plans and estimates for residential developments of varying size and complexity
- Using Causeway to build accurate and well-structured bids
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documents to inform pricing strategies
- Leading subcontractor pricing—issuing enquiries, chasing responses and resolving discrepancies
- Chairing pricing meetings and contributing to bid strategies and settlement reviews
- Collaborating with internal teams to input fees, preliminaries and statutory costs
- Visiting sites and documenting findings to support programme and pricing development
- Preparing handover packs and supporting the transition from pre-construction to delivery
- Recording all enquiries and submissions using Hill’s templates and control documents
- Identifying and communicating risks, opportunities, and cost options to the wider team
- Maintaining document accuracy and process compliance in line with ISO9001 and Health & Safety standards
