About the Role
The Crown Estate is seeking a proactive and service-oriented Facilities Manager to oversee the delivery of facilities services across one or more managed buildings. This role is central to maintaining operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and enhancing customer experience. You will lead by example, uphold best practice standards, and contribute to The Crown Estate’s commitment to a net zero carbon estate by 2030. Key responsibilities include championing a safety-first culture with full compliance to health and fire safety regulations, managing day-to-day building operations covering both soft and hard services, and acting as the primary contact for occupiers to deliver responsive, high-quality service. You will support customer fit-outs in line with The Crown Estate’s Lease Transaction Approval (LTA) process and collaborate with estate service partners and suppliers to ensure service delivery aligns with lease obligations and budget expectations. Additional duties include preparing and monitoring service charge and operational expenditure budgets with variance reporting and reconciliations, leading emergency response procedures and out-of-hours cover prioritising safety and continuity, maintaining mechanical and electrical systems to meet operational and maintenance standards, coordinating major works with surveyors, architects and consultants, managing contractor activities including permits to work and reviewing risk assessments and method statements, maintaining site logbooks with regular inspections and defect resolution, developing occupier handbooks, managing vacant properties in line with insurance guidelines, and supporting insurance claims and related site works. Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities management. Proven experience in property or corporate facilities management with a collaborative and change-positive mindset. Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems. Demonstrated ability to foster a safety-first culture across site teams.
