Location
London - Hybrid home/office working with attendance at Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea and Great Dover Street finance offices. Occasional travel to Harefield (once/twice per year) with internal shuttle bus available.

Hours
Full Time - Standard NHS working hours with some flexibility as required.

Salary
£71,148 per annum

This is an exciting opportunity for a bright and motivated accountant to join the Heart Lung and Critical Care Clinical Group as a Finance Manager. You will provide business partnering support to the Directorate, managing monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial performance and planning activities. Responsibilities include month-end reporting, forecasting, financial planning alongside clinicians and operational managers, consulting with the Directorate General Manager and Deputy Head of Finance, and presenting financial reports at Directorate meetings. You will be an integral part of the Directorate’s Management Team.

The role reports to the Senior Finance Manager and involves close collaboration with the Head of Finance, Deputy Finance Manager, and General Managers to deliver high-quality monthly reporting and business support services.

Requirements

Experience
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the NHS financial environment.
- Experience managing budget setting processes, developing cost improvement strategies, and providing comprehensive financial advice to non-finance managers.
- Considerable staff management experience.
- Post-qualification experience or significant management accounting experience in a large, complex organisation (NHS experience beneficial but not essential).

- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly to non-finance managers.
- Ability to communicate contentious information effectively.
- Highly developed analytical skills to solve complex financial and non-financial problems.
- Strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills.

Qualifications
- CCAB professional accountancy qualification or equivalent.
- Commitment to continuous professional development (CPD) in line with membership requirements of the relevant accounting body.
- Appropriate UK professional registration.
