About the Role
As a Fire & Flood Restoration Senior Technician, you will play a critical role in assessing and evaluating damage to properties affected by fire, water, mold, or other disasters. You will conduct thorough inspections, document damage, estimate restoration costs, develop restoration plans, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful restoration of damaged properties and client satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive property assessments, liaising with policy holders, loss adjusters, and other stakeholders, and documenting damage using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, borescopes, and other specialized equipment. You will prepare detailed, technically competent reports and cost estimates for submission to offices or insurance companies.
You will collaborate with restoration technicians and other professionals such as electricians, plumbers, and furniture restorers to develop tailored restoration plans. You will appoint and supervise junior technicians for tasks including strip out, cleaning, restoration, and drying, monitoring their performance throughout the project.
Ensuring all restoration work complies with relevant regulations, including IICRC, BDMA codes and guidelines such as PAS64 and S500, is essential. You will assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain safety standards for workers and property occupants.
Effective communication with property owners, insurance adjusters, and other stakeholders is key, providing updates on assessments, plans, costs, and timelines, and addressing queries with technical knowledge when required. You will also monitor restoration progress, conduct quality control inspections, and manage projects from start to finish, coordinating subcontractors, scheduling work, managing budgets, and ensuring timely completion within budget.
