Fire Officer – Fire Team (North West)

Across L&Q North West region, reporting office at Nexus House, Trafford. Agile working combining office, home and site.

Full Time - 35 hours per week
Salary
£40,370 - £51,553 depending on experience and qualifications plus £1,300 essential car user allowance*
About the Role
Join our Major Works Fire Team at L&Q as a Fire Officer within Property Services. This permanent role reports to the Building Safety Manager and offers the opportunity to provide specialist fire safety management and risk assessment services across L&Q. You will conduct professional and compliant Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) on residential buildings including High Rise, Sheltered, Extra Care Schemes and Community Centres, ensuring statutory requirements are met. You will develop, implement and manage fire safety procedures aligned with policy, best practice, regulatory and legislative requirements. This role is rewarding and impactful, allowing you to make a real difference to residents and the local community by prioritising fire safety. You will deliver a high quality, confidential, and customer-focused service both independently and as part of a team.

Experience
- Extensive experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments in the residential sector including high rise and sheltered housing
- Knowledge and experience of Fire Safety legislation and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Understanding of fire compliance within housing associations or local authorities
- Experience working with Approved Documents and industry guidance

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a dispersed team
- Proficient in MS Office packages; training provided on trust bespoke systems
- Valid driving licence and access to a car
Qualifications
- Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management
- Already obtained or willing to work towards Professional Fire Accreditation
