Permanent, Full time, 35 hours per week with hybrid working; 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location
Salary
£46,503 - £56,000 depending on experience and qualifications plus £1,300 essential car user allowance*
About the Role
Join our Fire Safety Team at London and Quadrant Housing Trust (L&Q) as a Fire Officer within Property Services. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to residents and the local community by ensuring fire safety is paramount. You will conduct professional, suitable, and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) in accordance with statutory requirements, either as part of a scheduled programme or in response to incidents on residential buildings.
Your responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and managing L&Q’s fire safety management procedures to ensure compliance with policy, best practice, regulatory, and legislative requirements. You will provide a high-quality, confidential, and customer-focused service, working both independently and as part of a team.
The role requires experience in undertaking FRAs on various residential building types including High Rise, Sheltered/Care Schemes, and Converted Street Properties. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to fire safety management within one of the UK’s leading housing associations.
Experience
- Extensive experience undertaking Fire Risk Assessments in the residential sector including High Rise, Sheltered/Care Schemes, and Converted Street Properties
- Knowledge and experience working with Fire Safety legislation and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Understanding of fire compliance within a housing association or local authority environment
- Familiarity with Approved Documents and Industry Guidance
- Ability to work effectively both in the office and remotely as part of a team
- Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messages for various internal and external stakeholders
- Competent in using MS Office packages; training provided on L&Q bespoke systems

Qualifications
- Level 3 or 4 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment and Fire Safety Management
- Professional Fire Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
