Job Responsibilities: As an experienced Fostering Social Worker, your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional support and guidance to foster families, ensuring the welfare and well-being of the children in their care. Your key duties will include: • Assessing the suitability of prospective foster carers through comprehensive assessments and home visits, including Form F assessments. • Preparing, reviewing, and implementing care plans for children in foster care, ensuring their individual needs are met. • Providing ongoing support, advice, and supervision to foster carers, including regular visits and phone consultations. • Liaising and collaborating with other professionals, such as teachers, health workers, and therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to support. • Monitoring and evaluating placements to ensure the safety and well-being of children, taking appropriate actions when necessary. • Assisting in the recruitment and training of new foster carers, promoting the benefits of fostering within the community. Requirements: • A recognised social work qualification and valid registration with the appropriate regulatory body. • Experience as a Fostering Social Worker, preferably within a similar organisation or local authority. • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and child protection. • Excellent assessment and report writing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information. • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with foster families and other professionals. • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a commitment to the welfare and safeguarding of children. • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, based on the needs of the role. Salary and Benefits: This part-time role offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from £30 to £40, depending on experience and qualifications.
