About the Role
Join Lambeth Council’s Community Works Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) as a Multi Trade Operative specialising in Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) remedial repairs across the housing stock. You will work as part of a multi-disciplined team delivering high-quality, FRA-compliant repairs within cost, quality, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with BM Trada specifications and best practice. Working closely with the FRA Supervisor, Manager, and Planners, you will complete multi-trade remedial works efficiently and to a "right first time" standard, using handheld devices to manage and prioritise work orders. This role requires professionalism, flexibility, and a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Successful candidates will undertake BM Trada training including an initial two-day course followed by approximately nine months of site-based assessments. Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience working as part of a multi-disciplined team within housing repairs, delivering high-quality, cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
- Experience carrying out all types of FRA-compliant repairs and maintenance works both internally and externally.
- Skilled in a wide range of internal and external repairs, maintenance, installations, and remedial works to meet customer satisfaction.
- Ability to plan and organise workloads efficiently, optimising time, materials, transport, and equipment to meet response targets.
- Competent in using PDA or similar systems to receive instructions, record completed work, and manage materials.
- Experience maintaining vehicle stock levels to support first-fix completion and uphold vehicle care and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and supervisors, taking ownership of repairs and providing clear updates.
- Ability to build positive relationships with residents, stakeholders, and contractors to deliver excellent customer service.
- Commitment to ongoing training and development to maintain skills and support flexible, multi-trade working.

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Carpentry or Plumbing as a core trade.
- Additional skills in at least one other trade discipline such as Drainage, Groundwork, Glazing, Plastering, Bricklaying, or Painting.
- Willingness to complete BM Trada training including an initial two-day course and subsequent site-based assessments.
- Successful candidates will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
