About the Role
Do you have a passion for protecting public funds and making a real difference to local communities? As a Fraud Investigations Officer, you will play a key role in identifying, investigating and preventing fraud across the Southwest London Fraud Partnership. You will manage a varied caseload of investigations, gathering evidence, analysing complex information and helping to ensure that public money is used appropriately and responsibly.

You will join a collaborative fraud service supporting multiple local authorities across Southwest London, working alongside experienced investigators, public sector partners and external agencies. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of fraud prevention and investigation across multiple London boroughs, contributing to safeguarding valuable resources and maintaining public trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your investigative expertise, work on complex and varied cases, and contribute to a service committed to protecting communities and delivering value for residents.

As the postholder, you will need knowledge and some experience of civil and criminal investigations and investigation procedures to progress your own portfolio of cases, working within any of our partner locations. Maintaining good working relationships with all partners is key to our success. Effective communication skills and the ability to liaise with diverse groups, ranging from service teams to Members, Directors and Senior Officers, are essential.

Experience
- Knowledge and experience of civil and criminal investigations
- Experience of investigative interviewing
- Understanding of and input into fraud prevention
- Ability to explain when data analytics can assist an investigation

About you
- Strong understanding of fraud investigation principles, evidence gathering techniques and relevant legislation
- Ability to analyse information and manage competing priorities
- Effective communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders

Qualifications
- English language and Mathematics GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Relevant fraud qualification and commitment to portfolio completion (for Grades SO.2 and above)
