We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our Platform & System Operations (PSO) team. The PSO team builds the tools and platforms used daily by intelligence analysts behind client investigations. Currently, these solutions are specialised and application-specific but share a backend core of Databricks, AWS and Python, with React on the frontend where needed. We are consolidating these tools into a single intelligence platform, and this role will contribute to that evolution.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will design, build and maintain applications powering our business—from APIs and services on our Python and AWS backend to user interfaces used directly by intelligence analysts, some built in React. Our ambitions extend beyond internal tooling towards a broader platform offering that will eventually be extended to clients. You will work closely with the engineering team to translate requirements into reliable, well-engineered software.

This mid-level role suits someone with solid full stack experience who is comfortable owning features end to end, eager to help shape a growing platform, and motivated by building tools with tangible impact on real investigations. You will balance pragmatism and craftsmanship, knowing when to move fast and when to invest in solid foundations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain full stack features across Databricks, Python and AWS backend and React frontend internal tools
- Collaborate with Solution Engineers and analysts to understand requirements and deliver maintainable technical solutions
- Build and maintain APIs and services on AWS powering internal tools
- Contribute to consolidating application-specific tools into a single intelligence platform, defining shared components and patterns
- Write clean, tested, well-documented code and participate in code reviews
- Own features from design through deployment, including monitoring and support
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues by working across the business
- Help evolve engineering practices, tooling and CI/CD processes
- Mentor junior colleagues and foster a high-standard engineering culture
- Maintain high standards of data security and information handling given the sensitive nature of intelligence and client data

Experience
- Degree in computer science, software engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven professional experience as a full stack engineer with strong backend and frontend development skills
- Strong Python skills with experience building APIs or backend services
- Practical experience with React or equivalent modern frontend frameworks
- Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and cloud-native architecture
- Comfortable working with SQL and data models
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to clarify ambiguous requirements
- Good communication skills to work with Solution Engineers and analysts
- Methodical approach to testing, code quality and documentation
- High IT literacy and ability to quickly learn new tools and frameworks

Qualifications
- Experience with Databricks, Spark or other large-scale data processing platforms is desirable
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience working in small or fast-moving engineering teams, ideally building internal tools or platforms
- Experience contributing to consolidation or re-architecture of multiple applications into a single platform
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools as part of a disciplined workflow, with critical review and ownership of AI-generated code
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and producing clear technical documentation and user guides
