About the Role
As a Functional Assessor: PIP Clinical Coach, you will develop a close working relationship with the Service Delivery Manager (SDM) to promote joint working. You will carry out clinical coaching with both new and existing staff following training to ensure a smooth and consistent learning journey. Your role includes conducting daily clinical audits and providing constructive, informative feedback via the PRS systems on staff performance. You will monitor trends and emerging issues, providing feedback to Clinical Support Leads as needed. You will undertake assessments in line with business needs and apply critical thinking and logical reasoning to support Functional Assessors in producing accurate, detailed reports using DWP systems and processes. Ensuring reports meet high standards, including accurate spelling and grammar, is essential. You will support the achievement of service delivery KPIs by providing an effective and efficient Assessment Service. Additionally, you will proactively develop your knowledge of health conditions through Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities in line with professional registration and contractual requirements. You will undertake any necessary training to carry out Functional Assessor duties such as Paper-based Reviews and initial Triage. Taking ownership of professional revalidation and maintaining personal approval in specific disciplines/tasks as per PIPAG guidelines are key responsibilities.

Experience
- Minimum 9-12 months experience as a DWP approved Functional Assessor with consistently high-quality clinical audit outcomes
- Minimum 12 months post-qualification experience as a physiotherapist, nurse, doctor, occupational therapist, or paramedic (PIP only)
- Experience in delivering feedback and professional development in a clinical setting
- Experience in delivering clinical coaching within the PIP environment
- Experience in undertaking and/or delivering PIP audits
About you
- HCPC, NMC, or GMC registered with no restrictions on practice
- Proven record of proactively engaging with relevant Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Positive approach to utilising feedback to maximise personal and professional development for self and others
Qualifications
- Registered healthcare professional status as physiotherapist, nurse, doctor, occupational therapist, or paramedic
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and revalidation
