About the Role
Equans is seeking a General Manager to join our team at The University of West London on a permanent basis. You will deliver operational support to staff and line management support to direct reports in line with the current structure, enabling teams to deliver budgets, business plans, corporate objectives, contract growth, retention, compliance, and customer satisfaction. You will manage and develop all services within the site, adhering to company standards and service contracts for clients, staff, students, and visitors. Maintaining close liaison with the client to meet day-to-day and future contract requirements is essential. You will be responsible for contractual performance, ensuring compliance with legislation, PMS, and contractual obligations, while driving continuous improvement and cost efficiencies.
Key responsibilities include delivering high-quality hard and soft FM services, formulating strategies with company management and clients to meet service demands and drive business growth, exercising financial and commercial controls to maximise profitability, managing supplier relationships to achieve best value, implementing contract performance monitoring, supporting managers in supplier management, contributing to business development activities, promoting excellent customer care, ensuring a safe environment compliant with health and safety legislation, recruiting and developing staff, setting and monitoring objectives for the contract and management team, and supporting the successful mobilisation and stabilisation of all FM services involved in the contract.

Experience
Extensive operational management experience within the FM industry, ideally in soft FM. Experience with security is desirable. Proven people management and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrable abilities in supplier contract negotiation and financial awareness.
About You
Strong customer focus with excellent communication, planning, time management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead teams effectively and deliver operational and performance management objectives. Ability to pass a DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check is essential.
