About the Role
London Borough of Tower Hamlets is committed to delivering outstanding public services, with a focus on providing exceptional Landlord Services to our 22,000 homes and building the largest number of new council homes in a generation. Join a supportive, friendly, diverse, and flexible workplace where you can make a real impact.
This is an exciting opportunity within the Housing and Regeneration Directorate at a pivotal moment. Since taking direct management of our council homes in November 2023, we have embarked on a journey of improvement, including a self-referral to the Regulator of Social Housing and launching the ‘Your Voice, Our Action’ improvement programme. Following a recent inspection, we are on a clear path towards excellence, and this role is central to delivering our regulatory Improvement Plan.
Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Policy and Regulatory Assurance, you will shape governance, performance management, risk control, and service improvement within housing management. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, providing expert advice to senior leadership and elected members, overseeing the governance framework, acting as the main contact for the Regulator of Social Housing and other bodies, managing a team responsible for governance and complaints, and developing robust governance, risk, and control frameworks. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and leadership to meet regulatory obligations and deliver high-quality services for residents.
