About the Role
As a Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you will ensure a clean and well-maintained environment so that residents feel at home and staff can perform their duties effectively. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is central to our commitment to delivering first-class care and support. This role offers variety, involving tasks within the care home building as well as the gardens and grounds. You may be fixing a leaky tap one moment and planting bulbs the next. You will be comfortable working independently, leading a maintenance team, and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. Additionally, you will liaise with contractors for jobs beyond your team’s expertise.

Experience
Hands-on experience in property maintenance with at least one trade skill. Proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks is desirable.

About you
Your number one priority will be the wellbeing of residents, ensuring all work is carried out sensitively to their needs. You should be reliable, flexible with working hours, and comfortable leading a team. IT literacy and good communication skills are essential.

Qualifications
Full UK driving licence required. GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent) are necessary.
