About the Role
The UK / Ireland HSE Manager is responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) programs across all BlackRock offices in the UK and Ireland. This role combines hands-on operational execution with regional leadership, ensuring HSE programs are consistently implemented, risks are proactively managed, and controls and documentation are in place to support both compliance and effective risk reduction.

Key responsibilities include serving as the primary HSE contact for all UK and Ireland offices with accountability for program delivery and site performance; partnering with Facilities, Engineering, HR, Security, Resilience, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent implementation of HSE programs; providing guidance and oversight to align local execution with global standards; and driving continuous improvement in safety culture, program effectiveness, and risk management practices.

The role also oversees core life safety programs such as CPR/AED training and equipment readiness, emergency preparedness training and response planning, and leads emergency drills including coordination, evaluation, and follow-up across sites. It maintains regional oversight of emergency preparedness and partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to support health center operations and employee wellbeing programs.

Additional responsibilities include leading event safety planning and oversight, ensuring risk assessments and control measures for workplace activities, supporting the Occupational Health program, managing incident processes, driving accountability for execution across sites, overseeing regulatory compliance and internal standards, leading inspections and audits, and ensuring HSE documentation is consistent, complete, and audit-ready.

This role requires a structured, detail-oriented mindset with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance operational engagement with regional leadership.

Requirements

Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in HSE, operations, or risk-related roles
- Proven experience leading HSE programs across multiple sites or regions
- Experience with emergency preparedness, workplace safety programs, and regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with data tracking and systems such as Excel and ServiceNow is preferred

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related field
