About the Role
As a Healthcare Assistant/Nurse Associate at Elthorne Park Surgery, you will play a vital role in supporting clinical and administrative functions within the practice. Your responsibilities will include new patient registration checks, blood pressure monitoring, urinalysis, phlebotomy, providing lifestyle advice, weight monitoring, and ensuring specimens are correctly labelled and prepared for collection. You will assist with clinical waste management, restocking and maintenance of equipment and clinical areas, and ensure sharps bins are ready for collection.

In addition, you will participate in administrative and professional duties such as maintaining accurate patient records, updating the clinical computer system, making appropriate service claims, and assisting with practice meetings and special projects like flu campaigns. You will also manage medical records by assembling, retrieving, filing, and ensuring records are neat and accurate.

Managing the appointment system is another key aspect of the role, requiring familiarity with all appointment types, booking appointments and recalls, and monitoring system effectiveness. You will be expected to perform any other delegated duties appropriate to the post, always maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.

The role demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to personal and professional development through ongoing training and performance reviews.
