About the Role
We are seeking a driver for an 18T rigid vehicle to carry out delivery work. Drivers will be responsible for completing mandatory safety checks of the vehicle before starting their shift, which takes at least 15 minutes and must be documented. Each vehicle is accompanied by a driver’s mate, but drivers will assist with deliveries. Vehicles are equipped with an electric pump truck and tail-lift to facilitate loading and unloading. As this is a customer-facing role, professionalism is essential when interacting with customers during delivery and goods inspection. Responsibilities include collaborating with transport managers to plan delivery schedules and routes, ensuring loads are securely fastened, monitoring traffic reports to avoid delays, completing delivery paperwork and logbooks, handling loading and unloading with care, and delivering goods into customer premises while checking delivery accuracy and obtaining signatures. Drivers will also collect and manage returned items as part of the delivery process.

Experience
Experience of multi-drop deliveries to customers including general public locations and job sites. Experience working in a similar delivery or logistics environment is required.
About you
Good geographic knowledge of the local delivery area. Strong verbal communication skills. Professional and customer-focused approach. Strong time management skills and ability to maintain schedules. Familiarity with tail-lift operation and ability to operate an electric pump truck is desirable. Knowledge of parking rules and regulations is advantageous.
Qualifications
UK Class 2 licence with no more than 6 penalty points (clean licence preferred). Valid Digital Tachograph card. Current CPC card with up-to-date training (7 hours per year). Non-UK licence holders must exchange CPC/Tacho cards for UK equivalents before employment or upon renewal. Solid understanding of EU/Domestic tachograph regulations including working hours, rest breaks, and driving time limits.
