About the Service and Team
This role focuses on improving health outcomes, reducing health inequalities, and supporting safeguarding through early intervention, health promotion, and multi-agency collaboration. The School Nurse delivers a specialist, inclusive, equitable, and accessible health service to vulnerable and underserved young people aged 11–19 (up to 25 with additional needs) in Sutton. This includes those engaged with the Youth Offending Team, attending Pupil Referral Units, not in education, employment or training (NEET), or receiving elective home education.

The post holder will deliver high-quality clinical care, manage complex cases, and improve health outcomes through early intervention, safeguarding, and multi-agency working, aligned with the Healthy Child Programme (5–19). The role requires providing a specialist, accessible, and youth-centred health service to vulnerable and underserved young people aged 11–19 (up to 25 for those with additional needs) in Sutton, including those involved with Youth Offending Services, attending Pupil Referral Units, NEET, or receiving elective home education.

Experience
Experience working with vulnerable and underserved young people aged 11–19 (up to 25 with additional needs) is essential. Experience in safeguarding, early intervention, and multi-agency collaboration is highly desirable.

Enthusiasm for working with diverse young people, including those involved with Youth Offending Services, Pupil Referral Units, NEET, or elective home education, is important. Qualifications
Registered Nurse qualification with relevant specialist school nursing experience is required. Knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme (5–19) and safeguarding frameworks is essential. Additional qualifications or training related to working with vulnerable youth or public health nursing would be advantageous.
