About the Role
The Housing Advisor – Rough Sleepers will work closely with the Supported Housing Commissioning Team, particularly the Rough Sleeping Coordinator, to identify rough sleepers in need of housing assessments and determine suitable locations for these assessments, which may include day centres, supported housing schemes, or short-term emergency hotel accommodation. This role is part of Lambeth Council’s approach to reducing homelessness and focuses on preventing and relieving homelessness for rough sleepers in line with the Homelessness Reduction Act, associated Code of Guidance, case law, and best practice.
The postholder will conduct in-depth interviews aimed at relieving homelessness, advise customers on available housing options, complete Personal Housing Plans, investigate complex housing situations, and issue decisions in accordance with the Housing Act 1996 as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
