About the Role
Be a hero to a young person in care by becoming an Independent Visitor (IV) – a volunteer mentor and trusted friend. As an IV, you will visit a young person in care once a month to enjoy fun, supportive activities together, providing consistent, caring adult support outside their professional network. This long-term role helps build strong, stable relationships that can be life changing for young people facing instability. Activities may include going to the cinema, bowling, exploring parks, or simply having a chat. You will also keep in touch between visits with calls or messages if the young person wishes, and occasionally join group events. This role is especially suited to volunteers based in or near London and Kent, where many young people live. Full initial training, ongoing support, and one-to-one supervision will be provided to help you succeed in this rewarding role.

No previous experience required; training and support will be provided.
