About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Leak Detection Engineer with a strong plumbing background to join the Disaster Care Capital team. This hands-on role supports residential and commercial clients following water leaks, flooding, and fire damage. You will be expected to hit the ground running, confidently carrying out non-invasive leak detection and trace & access works, producing technical reports, and liaising directly with insurers and loss adjusters. Alongside leak detection, you will support our flood and fire restoration team to deliver a full end-to-end service to clients.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leak detection and trace & access: locating and diagnosing leaks using thermal imaging, acoustic equipment, tracer gas, moisture mapping, and other industry-standard methods.
- Plumbing works: carrying out installations, repairs, and maintenance across pipework, fixtures, and drainage systems.
- Emergency response: attending callouts for leaks, burst pipes, and flooding.
- Restoration support: assisting with water mitigation, structural drying, dehumidification, mould remediation, fire damage cleaning, strip-outs, and reinstatement preparation.
- Technical reporting: producing clear, professional reports with photos, notes, and moisture readings via company-issued tablet or phone, meeting insurer and loss adjuster standards.
- Client liaison: communicating professionally with homeowners, tenants, landlords, insurers, and loss adjusters to ensure excellent service delivery.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven leak detection and trace & access experience, able to independently manage any job.
- Hands-on experience with leak detection equipment including thermal imaging, acoustic devices, tracer gas, and moisture meters.
- Confident and competent in producing technical reports to insurance industry standards.

About you
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and reliable, capable of managing your own day and workload.
- Professional and customer-focused approach when liaising with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
