Introduction The Participation Team forms part of the wider Chamber and Participation Team and works for both the House of Commons and House of Lords. It delivers services which encourage the public to get involved with and understand more about the work and role of UK Parliament. These include free offerings (e.g. teaching resources, visits to the Education Centre, outreach workshops, teacher training, special events and tours for UK residents) and paid-for commercial tours. The Role The Marketing Executive will play a key role working in a team responsible for planning, delivering and optimising audience-focussed marketing campaigns which build trust with the public and encourage meaningful engagement with UK Parliament and its Members. You'll have the opportunity to support a wide range of work across digital, content, insights, planning, branding and more. With responsibilities including: Support the development of globally significant campaigns promoting tours of the Palace of Westminster, including the iconic Big Ben. Help devise marketing tactics which inspire schoolchildren to learn more about democracy through UK Parliament week, school visits and more. Represent UK Parliament by liaising with external suppliers, including briefing in work and sourcing quotes. Develop, produce and proof-read content for different audiences and channels (e.g. newsletters, social media, website). Coordinate photography and videography shoots showcasing UK Parliament's public engagement activities. Undertake desk-based research to contribute to campaign planning and audience insights. Skills and Experience We are looking for a highly organised, professional communicator with excellent administrative skills. The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience: An understanding of the principles of marketing, preferably demonstrated by experience of working in a marketing team or marketing role. Excellent written communication, including effective proof-reading skills and the ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences. Plan, prioritise and monitor tasks in an organised way to meet tight deadlines. Ability to use initiative, be proactive to develop new ideas and ways to continuously improve working practices. Ability to build good relationships and cooperate with others, whilst upholding the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. Good research skills, including the ability to identify and effectively search appropriate sources.
