About the Role
As a Medical Receptionist at Keats Group Practice, you will be responsible for a wide range of reception duties and providing general support to the multidisciplinary team. Your key tasks will include greeting and directing patients, managing the appointment system effectively, booking appointments, processing information, and assisting patients as required. You will act as the central point of contact for patients, handling the distribution of information, messages, and enquiries for the clinical team. Additionally, you will liaise with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers. Core responsibilities include maintaining and monitoring the appointment system, processing appointment requests via phone and electronic means, answering and transferring incoming calls, signposting patients to appropriate services, coding data on the clinical IT system, photocopying documentation, data entry of new and temporary registrations, inputting data into patient healthcare records, managing requests for information (e.g., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters, DVLA forms), efficiently handling queries, carrying out system searches, maintaining a clean and effective working area, monitoring the reception area and notice boards, and supporting clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
Experience
Previous experience in a medical reception or administrative role is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with clinical IT systems and appointment management is advantageous.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You must be patient-focused, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are strictly required; however, a good standard of literacy and numeracy is expected. Training will be provided to support your development in the role.
