Notification and Support Officer (FTC ending 30/04/2027)

Location
Elgin Ave., London
Hours
Full Time (specific hours not stated)
Salary

About the Role
Support our community through sensitive data challenges with empathy, clarity and care. As a Notification and Support Officer, you’ll help local residents navigate the impact of a complex data breach. We’re committed to providing clear, compassionate guidance and structured support when local people need it most.
You’ll be based in the Borough for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you’re working in the office, remotely or collaborating across departments, you’ll be part of a dedicated team delivering an empathetic, well-governed response.
Your focus will be leading the day-to-day operation of our notification and support function, ensuring enquiries, cases and support pathways are managed with care, precision and complete regulatory compliance. You’ll establish and maintain scalable support channels – including helplines, inboxes and case-management systems – triaging incoming queries so that complex or high-risk cases are escalated appropriately.
Collaboration is central to this role. A core part of your day will involve working closely with frontline services such as Children’s Services, Adults’ Social Care and Housing to ensure vulnerable individuals receive safe, tailored support. When complex cases arise, you’ll handle them directly, maintaining clear and auditable case records to meet strict legal and governance standards.
You’ll also monitor enquiry trends to help senior leadership understand performance insights and refine our pathways. By balancing operational rigor with genuine empathy, you’ll ensure our service upholds our council-wide commitment to care, competence and fairness.
At RBKC, we’re all in – investing in our people, our communities and our future. While operating in a heavily scrutinised and regulated field presents genuine challenges, this role offers a rare opportunity to develop specialised expertise in data breach response and public sector governance. You’ll join a supportive, collaborative team environment where knowledge is shared freely and colleagues look out for one another.
We offer a competitive salary alongside comprehensive wellbeing support and opportunities for professional development within a team that values open communication, continuous learning and practical action.

In this role, the 'we're all in' mindset means taking full ownership of complex, sensitive challenges when residents need clarity and support most. Operating in a high-scrutiny environment isn't always smooth sailing, but your calm, practical approach will help residents feel supported and understood. By committing fully to upholding rigorous standards and protecting vulnerable individuals, you'll help build trust in the Council while making a lasting difference to our community.
Experience
Relevant operational, customer service or equivalent experience delivering complex, people-focused services in a high-volume, sensitive or crisis-response environment.
