Salary

About the Role
Support the North Kensington community to rebuild, aspire and shape futures beyond tragedy. This unique role is part of a community-led multi-disciplinary team delivering educational support that builds confidence and capacity among local stakeholders. As the sole Occupational Therapist in the Grenfell Education Team, you will work adaptably and innovatively alongside a Speech and Language Therapist, specialist teachers, an Educational Psychologist, and a Family Practitioner.
You will collaborate with children, young people, families, professionals, and institutions affected by the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Through trauma-informed, relationship-based practice, you will engage the community to foster learning, regain confidence, and inspire futures led by ambition and possibility.
Your work will be split equally between school-based delivery and direct response to residents visiting the Education Hub. The multi-disciplinary approach values clear professional roles, benefiting from each specialism’s expertise. You will practise as an autonomous professional with your specialist expertise recognised and protected, receiving regular profession-specific supervision and supportive line management to ensure ethical, reflective, and sustainable practice.
Your responsibilities include building the capacity of other professionals and parents/carers to support children and young people with diverse needs. You will provide advice, assessment, ongoing support, contribute to training, and participate in impact evaluation. You will deliver inclusive, person-centred Occupational Therapy for children and young people aged 0-25, working collaboratively across community and education settings to create positive outcomes.
You will design and deliver tailored interventions that help children and young people function and thrive, restoring their sense of agency and potential. You will carry out assessments and write clear, accessible reports that advocate for sustainable change, helping schools, families, and professionals understand what young people need to feel safe, connected, and capable of moving forward.
This is a long-term, community-led response to one of the most devastating tragedies in recent history. At the Grenfell Education Hub, you will be part of a team committed to ensuring no child carries the weight of this tragedy alone and that every young person is supported to be seen for who they are and what they hope to become.
Experience
You will be an experienced, qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You will have the clinical skills to assess and advise, alongside a commitment to supporting young people affected by trauma.
About you
You are a thoughtful communicator and collaborator, able to build trust with families, schools, and professionals navigating loss and disruption. You work creatively, listen to stakeholders, and refine your approach to bring about lasting change. You are confident supporting change at individual, family, classroom, and community levels, always aiming to help children grow into futures shaped by choice, not circumstance.
Qualifications
Registered Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration. This role requires an Enhanced DBS with children’s barred list.
