About the Role
The London Borough of Bromley is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Occupational Therapist to join our newly introduced Occupational Therapy led front door team, the Community Intervention Hub. This exciting role supports Adult Social Care by providing focused short-term interventions to mitigate immediate risk and ensure residents’ occupational therapy and social care needs are identified and met.
The team works collaboratively with the Initial Contact Team, Safeguarding Team, and other social workers within the Community Intervention & Prevention Hub. The role operates within a hybrid working model, combining time at the Civic Centre, community assessment visits, and home working.
Key responsibilities include joint triaging and multi-disciplinary working with social workers, conducting occupational therapy assessments in residents’ homes and via telephone triage, completing joint visits, identifying and ordering required OT equipment and minor adaptations, performing moving and handling assessments when necessary, and supervising less qualified staff.
The successful candidate will receive a full induction, regular professional supervision, and access to ongoing professional development including an Occupational Therapy training program, Journal Club, and Clinical Reasoning Group to support knowledge growth and complex case management.
