About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Mental Health and Wellness Team (MHWT) in Redbridge. The MHWT is a community mental health service providing assessment, intervention, and recovery-focused support for adults. As a key member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will deliver high quality, person-centred Occupational Therapy interventions that promote independence, social inclusion, and meaningful engagement in daily life.
You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary and OT team pathway, contributing to holistic care planning, risk formulations, and evidence-based interventions. The role offers opportunities to develop specialist skills, support service development, co-production, and contribute towards a recovery-oriented service model.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist passionate about community mental health and committed to improving outcomes within a supportive and forward-thinking team.
The role includes managing your own workload, prioritising tasks effectively, and working independently as well as part of a team. Flexibility and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential. The position may involve working across multiple sites.
Additional responsibilities include acting as a Practice Placement Educator for OT students and apprentices, participating in clinical effectiveness and service improvement activities such as audits, quality improvement, research and development, and providing clinical supervision and coordination of junior staff and students/apprentices.
New starters will undergo a comprehensive induction including mandatory and systems training, held at the Trust's head office in Goodmayes Hospital. The post is subject to a probationary period unless exempted for internal applicants.
Joining #TeamNELFT means becoming part of a welcoming and supportive environment. NELFT is CQC rated Good and committed to achieving an Outstanding rating. NELFT is a Level 3 Disability Confident Leader and recognised for family-friendly and carers support initiatives.
