About the Role
The London Borough of Harrow's Adult Social Care division is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist Senior Practitioner to provide expert advice and support to Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, and Trusted Assessors working with adults and children with physical disabilities. This role involves commissioning services for adaptations and equipment to promote independence among citizens. Key responsibilities include offering professional guidance to care management teams and the Harrow Adaptations and Repair Team (HART), chairing professional meetings and case conferences, and managing complex cases involving moving and handling issues. You will liaise with internal and external colleagues and carry out joint visits as necessary. Additionally, you will support the Team Manager by deputising in their absence and/or acting as Duty Manager when required. Ensuring statutory assessments and reviews are completed promptly to facilitate decision-making is central to this role. A valid UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle are essential due to travel requirements to peripheral stores.

Experience
- Extensive experience in occupational therapy practice, including advising and guiding less experienced staff.
- Experience providing professional supervision to Occupational Therapists, OT Assistants, Trusted Assessors, or students.
- Proven ability to present complex cases clearly and effectively to panels.
- Experience in writing detailed reports.
- Ability to carry out specialised training as required.
- Willingness and ability to work occasional unsocial hours.

About You
- Holds an Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Extensive knowledge of legislation and policies related to adult social care, sufficient to advise less experienced colleagues.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
