About the Role
As the Office Manager at Battersea Fields Practice, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. Your responsibilities will include overseeing HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews, performance management, and mandatory training compliance. You will work closely with line managers to develop an annual learning calendar and manage the appraisal system.
In addition, you will lead on premises management to ensure compliance with safety standards, coordinating with external providers including NHS Property Services, cleaning companies, and landlords. You will contribute to maintaining CQC compliance alongside the senior management team and support staff awareness of premises safety and incident response.
You will also manage student placements by liaising with universities and training providers, conducting suitability checks, delivering tailored inductions, and ensuring accurate financial arrangements.
Other key duties include acting as PA to the Partners and Business & Development Manager, managing complaints processes, leading internal communications including newsletters and staff presentations, maintaining stationery and equipment supplies, updating the internal information portal, and line managing the IT Administrator to ensure timely and quality completion of work.
Experience
Proven experience in office or practice management, preferably within a healthcare or GP practice setting. Experience in HR processes, premises management, and coordinating student placements is highly desirable.
About you
Organised and proactive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders including clinical and non-clinical staff, external providers, and educational institutions. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Confident in managing complaints and internal communications.
Qualifications
A relevant qualification in business administration, HR, or practice management is preferred but not essential. A willingness to undertake further training and development to support the role is expected.
