About Us
The City of London Corporation manages 11,000 acres (approximately 4,500 hectares) of land in and around London that is enjoyed by over 16 million visitors annually. The majority of this land can be found outside the Square Mile, and the City Corporation acts as Trustee of 10 charities responsible for the preservation of these award-winning open spaces.
About the Role
The Operative Ranger is the frontline face of our open spaces and is critical to ensuring a safe, welcoming customer experience for all users while maintaining the high standards required for the Green Flag Award and other nationally recognized standards. The Operative Ranger will support existing teams in keeping the parks clean and safe, engage with visitors and community groups, support events across the department, and maintain the quality of sports pitches.
Experience
You will have experience of maintaining sports pitches and a good understanding of Health & Safety at work. You must have the relevant certification to operate machinery and demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced open spaces environment.
About you
You will possess good communication skills, be able to follow company policies and procedures, and provide accurate updates to your line manager both written and verbal. You should show initiative, work well in a team, and be flexible, calm under pressure with a can-do approach to working outdoors. A full clean driving licence is essential.
Qualifications
Relevant certifications to operate machinery are required.
