The Patient Pathway Coordinator will be part of the Diagnostic Centre admin team, responsible for scheduling appointments for NHS and private patients within the echocardiology department. This role involves close collaboration with clinical and managerial staff to ensure patients receive timely diagnostic appointments and national targets are met. The post holder will also provide receptionist duties and NHS secretarial support to consultants, managing clinical correspondence and patient queries.
The role requires providing a high standard of professional, patient-focused service and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Diagnostic Centre. The post holder will assist in developing processes to improve service efficiency and may be required to cross cover reception areas and support sonographers and consultants with administrative tasks.
Key responsibilities include coordinating appointments, managing patient pathways in line with Trust and national policies, maintaining accurate patient data, supporting multi-disciplinary teams, and contributing to service development. The role also involves ensuring compliance with confidentiality, information governance, health and safety, infection control, safeguarding, and equal opportunities policies.

Experience
- Previous administrative experience within the NHS or private healthcare setting.
- Experience with electronic booking systems.
- Understanding of NHS waiting time targets.
- Desirable: Experience working in diagnostics or imaging departments and familiarity with EPIC system.
