About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS trusts, providing a wide range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust includes leading centres such as Evelina London Children’s Hospital, a £160 million Cancer Centre, and the Royal Brompton and Harefield heart and lung services. We pride ourselves on clinical excellence, high quality teaching, research, and delivering outstanding patient care.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the colorectal surgery department as a Pelvic Floor Patient Access Coordinator. This department specialises in cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, intestinal failure, and general colorectal surgery. The post holder will coordinate patients’ entire journeys, ensuring a high level of service and support throughout.

The role involves acting as the first point of contact for all patient access queries, managing referrals and vetting processes in line with departmental guidelines, scheduling outpatient and elective admission appointments according to clinical urgency and wait times, liaising with patients to agree mutually convenient appointment times, and ensuring patients receive appropriate reminders and notifications. The post holder will provide a courteous and efficient point of contact both face to face and by telephone, ensuring individual patient needs are met, including arranging interpreting support where necessary.

The Trust values caring, ambition, and inclusivity, and expects all staff to embody these principles by putting patients first, striving for excellence, and working collaboratively with respect for diversity.
