About the Role
You will work closely with our Senior Leadership teams to build organisation and people capability. Shaping and implementing effective people strategies and activities within the business to assist in the delivery of the organisation’s priorities, this role requires the ability to work both strategically and operationally across the business. You will support the design and delivery of a range of People & Inclusion initiatives and projects aligned with strategic priorities and the People & Inclusion plan.

Key responsibilities include:
1. Quickly building relationships with key stakeholders and providing pragmatic HR solutions that deliver within both strategic and operational HR areas.
2. Maintaining and continually developing a strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice, including maintaining external networks.
3. Providing sound advice and guidance on employment relations matters, identifying and mitigating risks through appropriate solutions.
4. Supporting the design, delivery and management of learning interventions, including facilitation, coaching and mentoring.
5. Being a strong and visible advocate for change management, leading and supporting the business as required.
6. Analysing and diagnosing business issues and translating these into people-based solutions while maintaining a wider commercial perspective.
7. Demonstrating passion for inclusion and well-being with knowledge of practical and meaningful solutions to drive progress.
8. Developing digital skills and understanding emerging HR trends.

Key contacts:
Department Directors, Heads of Department, Employees, External subject matter experts such as legal counsel and Trade Unions.

Requirements

Experience
You will be CIPD qualified or have equivalent experience with a strong generalist HR background at an HR Business Partner level. Experience working either in a standalone role or as part of a team is essential, with the ability to be hands-on when required.

Key skills and knowledge include:
- Personable with excellent communication skills, able to connect with teams and understand their challenges.
- Confident in handling difficult conversations and challenging issues, acting as the conscience of the business.
- Proven ability to mediate employee relations matters and advise Senior Management on legal and policy development.
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of partnering and influencing leadership to design and implement effective HR programs.
- Ability to measure and track HR effectiveness using key metrics.
- Confident knowledge of UK employment law; experience with Hay job evaluation or similar methodologies is preferable.
- Passionate about continuous improvement and creating an engaging employee experience.

Qualifications
CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience is required.
