About the Role
We are seeking a passionate Physical Health Nurse (RGN) to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Harrow, an Acute Inpatient Mental Health and Autism service. The hospital provides a recovery-focused environment treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including specialist diagnostic, assessment, and inpatient services for individuals with dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

Our acute inpatient psychiatric services offer assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals with diverse psychological and emotional needs, including those detained under the Mental Health Act. Key responsibilities include closely monitoring patient physical health issues such as obesity, hypertension, diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, COPD, and minor injuries; performing ECGs and Metabolic Syndrome monitoring; coordinating routine reviews with GP surgeries; liaising with various health professionals including dieticians, opticians, chiropodists, continence nurses, dentists, and pharmacists; supporting mental health nursing staff with minor injuries and wound care management; maintaining accurate reports and records; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; promoting physical health and wellbeing among service users; training staff in vital observations, ECG reading, and venepuncture; and providing health clinic sessions for service users.

Experience
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with a current Pin Number
- Experience working in a GP surgery or similar primary care setting
- Ability to maintain documentation, undertake audits, and demonstrate integrity in your role
- Good understanding of the latest nursing practices
- Commitment to patient recovery and effective risk management

Qualifications
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification essential
