About the Role
Working at HM Treasury places you at the heart of government, influencing decisions that directly impact the UK economy and the lives of people across the country. This fast-paced and dynamic environment offers the opportunity to advise Ministers on key economic and financial matters, contributing to the UK’s prosperity.

This role sits within the branch responsible for the UK’s financial relationship with the European Union. You will provide policy oversight on two key areas: the UK’s participation in EU programmes under the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) and the UK’s financial obligations through the EU Financial Settlement under the Withdrawal Agreement.

You will split your time between Withdrawal Agreement and TCA-related issues, reporting to two Range E (G7) managers under a matrix management system. Key responsibilities include supporting formal EU-UK financial meetings, developing government strategy on EU programme participation, leading HM Treasury’s oversight of the EU space programme involvement, managing correspondence and assurance activities related to the EU Financial Settlement, and overseeing the advice process for payment of EU Financial Settlement invoices.

HM Treasury is a high-performing, inclusive, and sociable workplace with offices in London, Darlington, Norwich, Birmingham, and Leeds, working seamlessly as one team. The department combines a rich history with a forward-looking vision to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
