About the Role
As a Portfolio Manager, you will take ownership of a patch within our Temporary Housing portfolio, ensuring it remains stable, high-quality and financially sound. You will lead on lease renewals, property inspections and new acquisitions, always keeping resident needs at the heart of your decisions.
Your responsibilities will include renewing leases and managing void properties, working closely with landlords and colleagues to improve property standards. You will inspect homes and respond to resident concerns to assess suitability for continued inclusion in the portfolio. Proactively sourcing and securing new high-quality properties, negotiating strong financial arrangements will be key to your role.
You will monitor portfolio size and performance, adjusting focus to maintain stability and meet demand. Building relationships with local authorities and external partners to support housing needs is essential. You will maintain market knowledge and use insights to inform strategy and meet KPIs.
Advocating for residents by ensuring homes meet quality, safety, and compliance standards will be a priority. Collaboration across the organisation to support residents affected by property removals and to deliver service improvements is also expected.
Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
Experience
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience in the private rental sector, including securing new business and managing leases.
- Knowledge of building construction and the ability to identify defects and remedies.
- Commercial awareness and a track record of securing sound financial arrangements.
- Customer-focused mindset and ability to build strong relationships across teams.
