About the Role
Notting Hill Genesis, one of London's largest housing associations, is seeking a Paralegal to join our Legal Disrepair team. As an integral part of our legal resources, you will provide legal support to operational and repairs teams on disrepair issues, acting as a trusted and knowledgeable voice on legal matters related to disrepair across the wider business.
Working closely with local officers, repair teams, tenancy sustainment, and safeguarding teams, you will ensure cases are handled sensitively, making recommendations and driving outcomes that safeguard the business while keeping residents at the centre of decisions.
Your responsibilities will include managing a caseload of escalated disrepair matters, providing comprehensive legal support particularly within the pre-action protocol, collaborating with panel solicitors when external involvement is required, and coaching Legal Assistants as needed. You will represent Notting Hill Genesis confidentially in external settings such as court, multi-agency meetings, mediation, and casework panels.
You will prepare, draft, and respond to all necessary legal documentation, evidence, and witness statements to a high standard, take ownership of your caseload in line with performance indicators, and work closely with operational teams to ensure legal escalation occurs only after all reasonable engagement with residents has been exhausted. Additionally, you will support and advise operational teams to identify and mitigate legal risks proactively and contribute to policy and practice development.
