About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to co-lead the psychology service for patients with Neurofibromatosis (NF). The post-holder will work across the lifespan with people living with chronic conditions in medical settings, providing psychological input to NF Services through clinics, support groups, and indirect work. You will be instrumental in developing and delivering a new paediatric psychology pathway, working with both adults and children. The role involves designing time-limited, evidence-based psychosocial interventions based on formulation to improve functioning, coping skills, adjustment, psychological wellbeing, and quality of life. You will represent psychology input at directorate and national meetings relevant to the NF service and contribute to service development in this highly specialist medical area. Additionally, you will offer expertise to the multidisciplinary team regarding the interplay between physical health and psychological presentations and design and deliver teaching and training programmes to raise awareness of psychological factors and improve care for this patient group.
Experience
Proven experience working in medical settings across the lifespan with people who have chronic conditions. Experience in delivering psychological interventions and working within multidisciplinary teams is essential.
About you
Committed to improving patient care through psychological expertise. Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to service development. Skilled in designing and delivering training and teaching programmes. Comfortable representing psychology services at senior meetings and contributing to strategic planning.
Qualifications
Qualified Practitioner Psychologist with relevant professional registration and experience in clinical psychology or equivalent. Experience in formulation-based treatment and delivering evidence-based psychosocial interventions is required.
