About the Role
Allwyn Lottery Solutions is a global leader in digital lottery and gaming solutions, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group with a strong presence across Europe. Our mission is to enhance player experiences and maximize returns for good causes through cutting-edge technology. We design and deliver innovative, scalable, and secure lottery platforms, including our flagship Genesis platform, which supports Player Account Management, Draw-Based Games, e-Instants, Fast Play™ games, web and mobile applications, and promotional tools.

As a Product Engineer, you will play a central role in designing, building, and evolving next-generation data and analytics products that empower lotteries worldwide. You will work across the full stack—from backend services and data integrations to user experience and interface design—collaborating closely with Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, BI Developers, Architects, and Product stakeholders. Our technology stack emphasizes simplicity and robustness, primarily using Django, HTMX, Alpine.js, and modern web standards.

This role suits engineers who value ownership, autonomy, and pragmatic problem-solving. You will take ideas from concept to production, leveraging AI-assisted development tools while maintaining strong engineering fundamentals. You will contribute to product direction, technical architecture, and engineering best practices within a lean, collaborative team focused on delivering secure, scalable, and maintainable software solutions that create exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

Experience
- Strong software engineering experience with Python and significant experience building and operating production Django applications.
- Deep understanding of Django architecture and ecosystem including ORM and query optimisation, authentication and authorisation, admin customisation, middleware, forms and validation, security best practices, testing, and application architecture.
- Strong understanding of web fundamentals: HTTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser behaviour, web security, caching, and performance optimisation.
- Experience building data-intensive applications, internal platforms, operational tooling, dashboards, reporting solutions, or SaaS products.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and relational data modelling.
- Experience designing and consuming APIs and integrating with external services.
- Experience developing modern user interfaces using server-side rendering and lightweight frontend technologies.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and deploying production web applications.
- Strong understanding of testing, observability, debugging, and software quality practices.
- Ability to work confidently across the full application stack and independently deliver production-ready features.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with HTMX and Alpine.js.
- Experience building products integrating analytics, data platforms, BI tooling, or machine learning services.
- Experience integrating LLMs, AI services, agentic workflows, or natural language interfaces into web applications.
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with asynchronous processing, background job frameworks, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience building collaborative applications, self-service platforms, or developer-focused products.

About you
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive work from concept to delivery.
- Comfortable operating in a lean team with cross-disciplinary contributions.
- Pragmatic decision-maker who values outcomes over unnecessary complexity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in ambiguous environments.
- Product-oriented mindset balancing technical excellence, user experience, and business value.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Curious, adaptable, and motivated by continuous learning.
- Passionate about building products that users genuinely enjoy using.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to improve productivity while maintaining strong engineering judgement and craftsmanship.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, propose improvements, and influence technical direction.
