About the Role
As part of the Academic Services team, the Programme Administrator’s primary responsibilities include undertaking administration related to the student academic experience such as induction, enrolment, attendance, assessment, and retention activities. You will provide excellent customer service to students and other stakeholders, ensuring academic programmes are administered in line with Academic Regulations and University processes within required deadlines. Working as part of a service-focused, friendly, and professional team, you will liaise closely with colleagues across the University and beyond to deliver a consistent and responsive level of customer service.
The role involves administering academic programmes with a consistent and robust approach, delivering advice and guidance to students, academic staff, and other stakeholders, and supporting administrative processes related to the implementation and ongoing review of programmes. You will collaborate with central services such as Registry, Timetabling, Immigration, and the Academic Office, maintain a sound understanding of Academic Regulations, and actively contribute to all aspects of the student experience including pre-registration, enrolment, induction, attendance monitoring, assessment, and retention activities.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating programme assessment procedures, working with academic colleagues and key stakeholders (external examiners, collaborative partners) to meet assessment deadlines, mark entry, production of grade sheets, servicing examination boards, and assisting with student award and progression recommendations. You will organise and service termly Programme Boards and other School meetings, gather and disseminate information as requested, volunteer at University Open Days and Graduation Ceremonies, and undertake all required administration and coordination activities professionally. Other duties commensurate with the seniority of the post may be assigned by your line manager or senior leadership team.
Experience
Experience in academic administration or a related field is desirable but not explicitly stated. The role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
