About the Role
We are seeking a Programme Finance Lead to join the Strategic Finance Function within the Corporate group at the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). This permanent, full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to broaden their experience in a fast-moving and complex environment.

The Programme Finance Lead will drive strong financial planning, forecasting, and performance management to help shape decisions and ensure effective resource use. You will provide financial leadership and oversight across complex programmes, including business case development, programme financial planning and forecasting, financial control and reporting, and act as a trusted business partner to Programme Managers and senior stakeholders.

This role requires resilience, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities. You will be supported by an experienced and collaborative Finance team and a strong network of colleagues across the Agency.

The role is based in London with a flexible hybrid working model requiring a minimum of 8 days per month on site, which may flex up to 12 days depending on business needs.

Requirements

Experience
- Significant experience in Programme Finance roles, demonstrating programme engagement, budgeting, and medium to long-term planning.
- Experience designing and maintaining programme finance and control systems to ensure financial information integrity, quality, and timeliness.
- Extensive collaboration with Programme teams and a proven track record of managing change and improving performance through technical and analytical skills.
- Experience engaging and challenging senior stakeholders to reach sound financial decisions.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to adapt procedures and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications
- Professional finance qualification such as CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, or CFA.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level.
- Knowledge of Managing Public Money, Value for Money principles, and HM Treasury Green Book guidance.
