About the Role
Turner & Townsend are seeking experienced Project Controls Managers to support major construction projects across the UK. You will lead a multi-functional Project Controls team, working collaboratively with the client’s Project Manager and supply chain to establish a realistic baseline and embed effective controls. Your role will involve monitoring progress, managing issues, mitigating slippage, and driving delivery to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities include embedding a robust breakdown structure integrating data from all controls functions, coordinating and leading estimating and planning sessions to develop market-tested cost and schedule baselines, and managing procurement lead times to prioritise ordering materials and equipment. You will oversee the risk management process with qualitative and quantitative assessments to support cost and schedule predictability.
Stakeholder management is critical, ensuring all key parties sign off on baselines and receive regular progress updates. You will embed a rigorous update process to manage schedule, interfaces, cost, risk, and changes effectively. The role requires guiding and influencing the principal contractor and client to drive delivery and achieve schedule and cash flow KPIs.
You will control costs using your knowledge of conceptual estimating, funding stage gates, contingency principles, and procurement. You will maintain quality checks on the master programme updates and lead the change management process to track and approve changes promptly. Identifying trends and root causes of deviations against the baseline using lead and lag indicators will be essential to report remedial actions and deliver best value for the client.
This role offers the opportunity to work within an entrepreneurial culture that values employee influence and career ownership, contributing to Turner & Townsend’s ambitious 2025 vision.
