About the Role
Wates are seeking a Project Director to join our SmartSpace team, leading a range of exciting fit-out projects. This role offers the opportunity to challenge the norm, bring fresh ideas, and elevate your career within the industry. You will take project leadership on fast-paced fit-out projects, working in partnership with clients including the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Previous MoJ experience is beneficial but not essential.

As a Project Director, you will provide visible leadership, insight, direction, and foresight to ensure the safe and profitable delivery of schemes. You will focus on excellent customer satisfaction and successful team development.

Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the project team and managing the supply chain to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
- Ensuring safety targets and standards are maintained by promoting safety excellence
- Fostering a continuous improvement culture by encouraging input and implementation of safety improvements from the project team
- Managing design strategies and coordinating with architects, engineers, and consultants
- Overseeing the selection of finishes, materials, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment)
- Developing project delivery programs, managing subcontractors, and handling procurement strategies
- Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies

Experience
Proven experience as a Project Director leading fast-paced fit-out projects. Experience working with the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is advantageous but not essential.
