Turner & Townsend is a global leader in project and programme management, supporting major clients across diverse sectors including Defence. Within the UK, we are a key Tier 1 supplier to the Ministry of Defence and strategic Defence suppliers. Our Defence South East Cost Centre delivers programme & project management, controls & performance management, cost management and procurement services for complex and high-profile Defence projects.

We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join our growing Defence team in London. You will play a pivotal role in delivering complex, large-scale Defence programmes, collaborating closely with clients and colleagues across the South East of England. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, supporting the defence of the United Kingdom while helping clients achieve their objectives.

Due to the sensitive nature of the work, candidates must be Sole UK Nationals able to achieve and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC). Existing SC clearance is desirable but not essential to apply.

Experience
- Proven project management experience within the Defence sector or a closely related field.
- Competency in project management aligned with the APM framework, including risk management, schedule management, governance and assurance.
- Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and delivering projects within financial constraints.
- Experience working directly with the Ministry of Defence or Defence industry clients.
- Ability to develop business cases compliant with Government standards.
- Skilled in building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with clients.
- Experience coordinating contractors, consultants, and advisors across multiple projects.
- Adaptability to manage different project types such as construction, manufacturing, and capability projects.

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM PMQ, or AGILE.
- NEC4 ECC PMA and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) qualifications are desirable.
- Membership of the Association for Project Management (MAPM) is preferred.
- Must be a Sole UK National able to obtain and maintain UK MoD Security Clearance (SC).

Desirable Experience
- Experience working with UK Government organisations.
- Infrastructure or construction project experience.
- Experience within the Nuclear sector.
- Familiarity with MoD procurement procedures, JSPs, DEFCONS, and the CADMID cycle.
