About the Role
As part of the Department of State, you will be an integral member of the Safety, Security, Business Resilience, Technology and Accommodation (SSBRTA) Team. This team provides advice, delivery, and assurance across safety, security, resilience, infrastructure, and information management functions, primarily supporting MOD Main Building. Reporting to the Head of Establishment at Director Level, you will support and manage the delivery of key infrastructure projects within Main Building, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required security and quality standards.
This role offers delivery experience on high-profile projects and opportunities for collaboration across Defence, including Strategy, Security, and Accommodation teams. Current projects include strategic initiatives to enhance the infrastructure and operational capabilities of Main Building, supporting the department’s strategic planning for the end of the existing Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contract, and reviewing options for future management of Main Building.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of key infrastructure projects within Main Building
- Collaborate with departments including accommodation, security, DIO, and the PFI contractor
- Support delivery of the Main Building PFI Exit (by 2030), PFI Successor arrangements, and modernisation work
- Manage project controls and governance, reporting project status and developing performance reports
- Map and manage dependencies and integrate dependency tracking into governance cycles
- Provide an ‘on call’ function supporting SSBRTA out-of-hours building incident management on a rotational basis
- Ensure compliance with all relevant MOD policies and procedures

Experience
- Proven experience applying project management techniques in complex environments
- Comfortable navigating complex stakeholder environments
- Relevant Project Management or P3M qualification (APM or similar) or demonstrable equivalent experience
