Working hours are flexible and consistent with the Primary Care working day.

Salary
£38,488 per annum.

About the Role
The Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner will accept referrals via agreed protocols and participate in duty and triage rotas alongside senior clinicians. You will assess and support individuals with common mental health problems to self-manage their recovery through patient-centred interviews, risk assessments, and delivering evidence-based low-intensity psychological treatments face to face, via telephone, or other media. The role involves educating and involving family members where appropriate, adhering to activity contracts to minimize waiting times, and maintaining accurate clinical records in line with service protocols.

You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate stepped care arrangements, integrate work and employment issues into therapy, and operate from an inclusive values base promoting recovery and diversity. Regular clinical supervision and personal development are integral to the role, alongside contributing to training and supporting other staff.

Additional responsibilities include assisting with service development projects, building relationships with primary care and voluntary sector agencies, improving service accessibility, and representing the service at relevant meetings. You will maintain clinical and statistical records, engage in IT training, and support audit and research projects to enhance evidence-based practice.

The role requires maintaining the highest professional standards through continuous professional development, excellent clinical record keeping, and flexibility to perform other duties as required by the Psychology Manager. This is a dynamic role that contributes significantly to the delivery and development of mental health services within the NHS Trust.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working with people with common mental health problems is desirable. Ability to undertake patient-centred assessments, risk assessments, and deliver evidence-based low-intensity psychological interventions. Experience in multidisciplinary team working and service development is advantageous.

Qualifications
