About the Role
This is an exciting senior, strategic public health role to influence leadership and decision making across Lambeth Council, the NHS and other partners. The successful candidate will apply their public health skills in a range of spheres and work with senior managers, elected members, and strategic and policy leads in the Council, NHS, communities and other statutory, voluntary and community organisations to improve population health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. You will join the Health Inequalities team within the Public Health directorate, led by the Public Health Consultant for Health Improvement and Wider Determinants of Health. Lambeth is a vibrant and diverse borough with bold ambitions for the future through the Lambeth 2030 Plan ‘Our Future, Our Lambeth’. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to improving health outcomes in a dynamic and culturally rich community.
Experience
Experience of working in public health settings or similar is essential. The post holder will have a strong understanding of public health principles and practice, particularly in relation to health inequalities and population health improvement.

You will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and influencing skills, able to work collaboratively with senior managers, elected members, NHS partners, and community organisations. You should be motivated by improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities within diverse communities.
Qualifications
You must hold, or be actively working towards, accreditation as a public health specialist or a related area of competence.
