About the Role
You will take a strategic lead for public health in protecting and improving the health of Barnet residents, focusing on Living and Ageing Well priorities, including NHS Health Checks, cardiovascular disease prevention, cancer screening, immunisations and healthy ageing. You will collaborate with council services, NHS organisations, voluntary and community sector partners and other stakeholders to improve population health outcomes through prevention, partnership working and evidence-based approaches. As part of the Live and Age Well and Health Protection team, you will work closely with another Public Health Strategist and Public Health Officers to deliver shared priorities through a one-team approach. You will also contribute to wider Public Health priorities including neighbourhood working, population health management approaches, health protection resilience, emergency response activity and cross-cover arrangements where required.

Experience
Proven experience leading, managing, implementing and evaluating public health programmes and projects. Experience working collaboratively with NHS partners and other stakeholders to improve health outcomes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use evidence, data and intelligence to identify priorities and drive improvement.

Excellent communication and influencing skills, capable of preparing reports, briefings and presentations for diverse audiences. Qualifications
Relevant qualifications and experience in public health or a related field are expected to support the strategic responsibilities of this role.
