About the Role
As Quality Manager, you will provide leadership and support on quality to HS2 delivery teams and the HS2 supply-chain, instilling a right first-time ethos to support the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of projects. You will be responsible for monitoring supply-chain compliance and performance against contracted standards and requirements such as WI 600 and ISO 9001, ensuring quality management systems are effective and advising project delivery teams on quality-related matters including concerns, recommended actions, and lessons learned through clear and effective management information and reporting.

Your role includes conducting quality audits of the supply-chain with risk-based audit planning, identifying trends and concerns through non-conformances and defects, and ensuring root causes and preventative measures are implemented. You will lead the implementation of the Get it Right Initiative to measure the cost of poor quality and promote knowledge sharing across project delivery teams including high potential incidents, lessons learned, and best practices.

You will monitor the quality of contractor deliverables through right first-time acceptance rates, support improvements in document quality, review and accept supply-chain quality documents such as Quality Management Plans and Audit Schedules, and act as the quality subject matter expert providing technical support and advice to project delivery teams.

Additionally, you will educate and train project delivery teams and the supply-chain on HS2’s quality requirements, processes, and management information/metrics. You will support the development of Quality Works/Goods/Service Information and quality management input to supplier selection and evaluation, assuring supplier compliance. You will promote compliance with HS2’s IMS controls and identify areas for improvement.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) are embedded in all aspects of this role, and you will actively promote and support organisational initiatives, policies, and procedures on EDI.
